- I need to download the MindManager product again, where can I find this?
You can download full versions of MindManager from the Mindjet Download Library after logging into your Mindjet ID. Mindjet online store purchases made during or after July 2008 can also be download the application from the My Products tab in the account management pages.
- I have two computers; can I install MindManager on both of these?
As stated in the MindManager EULA, customers are allowed to install and activate MindManager on two separate computers for personal use.
- During checkout, why do I receive the message "check billing and credit card information"?
For proper credit card verification, the billing address on your order must match the billing address on your credit card. Please make sure that your name and address appears exactly the same as the name on your credit card billing statement.
- Why has my order not gone through even though I was charged?
Unless you have received the order confirmation screen and email, these are most likely pending charges that Mindjet will not pursue. They should drop off your statement in 2-3 days.
- I ordered a physical CD but can't find my license key. What should I do?
License keys for boxed copy of MindManager will be found on a card in the box. Please be sure to look in all areas of the box including between the outer and inner lining.
- I have a MindManager 2002 or earlier license key but I cannot use it to upgrade in the online store. What should I do?
Customers wishing to upgrade to the most current version of MindManager using a MindManager 2002 or earlier license key will need to call Mindjet Sales to purchase. Please contact Mindjet Sales through our Contact Corporate Sales page under the Store menu.
- I need to download the MindManager product again, where can I find this?

- I can't activate MindManager via the internet. What should I do?
If you cannot activate over the internet, please request Manual Activation in the Activation wizard:
- Open MindManager
- Go to Tools>Activate
- Select the third option "Manual via Email"
- Enter your MindManager License key
- Copy the complete code to an email and send it to activation@mindjet.com
You will receive your activation file and further instructions by email within two business days.
- I requested an activation file via email but did not receive anything. What should I do?
In some instances the License files get blocked or deleted by email security systems. Please check your spam filter. If you do not find an email reply please inform Customer Service and state the email address used to request the License file.
- I am getting a message that I have exceeded the number of activations for my License. What should I do?
The number of activations for a given license may be exceeded due to multiple activation requests. This may be because:
- You are using a new computer
- You have re-installed your operating system (hardware update) etc.
Please forward your license key to Customer Service and we will look up your activation history.
- I am getting a message that the current installed product version of MindManager differs from the version activated by the License. What should I do?
License keys are specific to the product purchased. This message indicates that the License key and the software installed do not correspond.
Please ensure that your License key corresponds to the purchased version of MindManager you wish to activate.
- I activated MindManager but it still shows "unlicensed". What do I need to do?
Please follow these steps to correct this problem:
- Close MindManager
- Navigate to the MindManager program folder (C:\PrograMindManager\Mindjet\MindManager\{Version}\)
- Open the registry editor: Go to "Start > Run" and enter "regedit" (without quotation marks). Hit enter.
- Navigate to the entry [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE-Microsoft-SLP Services] and delete the key "SLP Services".
- Restart MindManager and execute the activation wizard again.
Now MindManager is activated. If you would like assistance, please contact Mindjet Technical Support.
- Why doesn't the Manual activation License file I already used work anymore?
The license files are system-specific and can be used only on the computer from which the manual activation request was made. If you have replaced your pc or if you have reinstalled your operating system please reactivate your product via the activation wizard.
- I can't activate MindManager via the internet. What should I do?

- I can't log in to my Mindjet ID anymore. What should I do?
Some older support and service center accounts could not be imported after the introduction of the Mindjet ID infrastructure. If you had an account on this older system, you will need to create a new account. If you created an account in the past year but cannot login, even after requesting a password resend, please contact Customer Service.
- I am trying to create a Mindjet ID but my email address is not accepted. What can I do?
You may already have an account. Please request "resend password" for your email address. You can edit your email address in the My Profile section of your account.
- I purchased MindManager in the Mindjet online store. Where can I find my License key?
Please log in to your Mindjet ID and go to My Products. If you purchased the download version you will find your license key there. However, if you purchased the physical CD version you will find your license key sealed in the box along with your CD.
- Why does my Mindjet ID still show the trial version after I purchased and registered?
Only products purchased in the Mindjet online store will show in the My Products section of your Mindjet ID. Product registrations are captured in a separate database and are not currently reflected on your My Accounts pages.
- I have more than one Mindjet ID. Can I merge them?
Currently it is not possible to merge accounts or consolidate order history.
- How can I delete my Mindjet ID?
Currently it is not possible for users to delete their own Mindjet ID. Please send a request to Customer Service and state the name and email address used to create the account and the desire to delete the account. We will send instructions to the email address on record.
- I can't log in to my Mindjet ID anymore. What should I do?

Users of Mindjet Connect have been automatically transitioned to Mindjet Catalyst, and this is reflected in your “My Products” tab. Your order history, if purchased through Mindjet, will reflect earlier naming conventions for the earlier collaborative platform.
- I have Mindjet Connect with other users invited to my account. Do I need to resend invites to my existing users?
Users of Mindjet Connect have been automatically transitioned to Mindjet Catalyst. You will not need to resend invitations to your existing users.
- My Mindjet Connect subscription expires soon. Will it be automatically renewed as Mindjet Catalyst or do I need to make a new purchase?
Users of Mindjet Connect have been automatically transitioned to Mindjet Catalyst. When your current subscription expires, you will be renewed into the Mindjet Catalyst offering.
- I already have Mindjet Connect, do I have to purchase Instant Meeting now as well?

Important note: Please ensure that the person who will be your Mindjet Catalyst Account Administer ("owner") is logged into their Mindjet.com Account when they activate the Mindjet Catalyst code. This is the person who will be managing the other users in the account. Your Mindjet Catalyst Account Administrator/Owner does not need to be the person who purchased the order. If you wish to use the same account you were using for your trial then please ensure you are logged into that Mindjet.com Account (vs creating a new one) before you enter your Mindjet Catalyst code. If you create a new account you will need to save your data from your trial account locally and import it into your new account.

- What is new in MindManager 8.1 versus 8.0?
MindManager 8.1 contains numerous fixes, and is the supported desktop client when using with Mindjet Catalyst. Please read our knowledgebase article for more information.
- If I update to MindManager 8.1 will I need to activate MindManager again?
When you update MindManager 8.0 to MindManager 8.1, you will not need to reactivate your product. If you are upgrading from MindManager 7.2 to 8.1, you will need a new license key and will need to reactivate you current product.
- I already have MindManager 8.0 installed; do I need MindManager 8.1 to use Mindjet Catalyst?
Technically, you can use MindManager 8.0 with Mindjet Catalyst. However, this configuration is unsupported, and is incompatible with the web conferencing add-in.
- What is new in MindManager 8.1 versus 8.0?

- Can I use Mindjet Catalyst to collaborate with others who use MindManager for Mac 8?
MindManager 8 Mac desktop version does not connect to Mindjet Catalyst but users can still access the Catalyst web client version with any standard web browser.
- Will my maps created in MindManager 8 for Windows be completely compatible with MindManager 8 for Mac?
Yes but there are some restrictions on cross-map compatibility. Some Windows version-only features will not display in the Mac version but these elements still exist in the map. They are not removed when opened on the Mac version. When opened again on the Windows version, the elements will display again.
- What is the difference between version 7 and 8 of MindManager for Mac?

- What is this difference between MindManager for SharePoint & MindManager 8 for Windows?
MindManager for SharePoint builds upon the award winning capabilities of MindManager 8 plus deep integration with SharePoint, including SharePoint dashboards, site explorers, content search, and easy wizards to visualize document lists, tasks, issues, and more.
Maps can be shared between both applications however users of MindManager 8 for Windows will not be able to refresh MindManager for SharePoint’s dynamically linked content.
- Can I use Mindjet Catalyst with MindManager for SharePoint?
Mindjet Catalyst is a service that enables users to update and co-edit maps with a browser or with MindManager 8 for Windows. MindManager for SharePoint users can also subscribe to this service to co-edit general maps, store documents & files in workspaces, and conduct Web conferences. However, it is not advised to store maps with synchronized SharePoint data in Mindjet Catalyst as other users on browsers and MindManager 8 for Windows will not have the same synchronized SharePoint access.
- How is SharePoint security maintained in MindManager for SharePoint?
Security is maintained strictly within Microsoft SharePoint. MindManager for SharePoint logs into SharePoint with your provided credentials and will provide the same access to SharePoint as if you accessed SharePoint directly from your browser.
The MindManager for SharePoint software uses your Windows credentials to log into SharePoint by default. In environments where ActiveDirectory is used to both authenticate users and manage SharePoint users, accessing SharePoint with MindManager for SharePoint is both seamless and secure since it uses the built in capabilities of Windows. For environments not connected to ActiveDirectory, SharePoint will prompt the user for a username and password, just as if you were accessing the SharePoint environment with a browser. This prompting is also handled via Windows.

- How can I import maps from other mapping software, i.e. Freemind?
MindManager does not have import functionality for third party mapping applications.
- Does MindManager integrate with Open Office?
No, MindManager only supports Microsoft Office XP or later.
- How does MindManager Pro 7 compare to MindManager 8?

- MindManager shows a Visual C++ runtime error on startup. What should I do?
To resolve the issue, please download the zip file below:
http://cssdl.mindjet.com/SkipUsageLogInvitation.zip- Open the zip file and double-click the registry script inside to run it.
- Choose yes to modify the registry.
- When this is successful, re-launch MindManager 8 and you should not see the error.
- After downloading the MindManager install file, install fails with initialization error. What should I do?
The setup file will need to be downloaded again using the same link either from the order confirmation or the trial confirmation.
- Clicking download links in embedded browser does not download the file. What should I do?
Currently the integrated browser in MindManager 8 only supports FTP download links. Links accessed through HTTP are not supported. To download files via HTTP, the website should be opened using the "Open Outside MindManager" command from the right-click sub-menu.
- Can I install MindManager 8 on Windows 7?
MindManager 8 will not support Windows 7 when Windows 7 is released but will support it in a future MindManager 8 service pack at no charge.
- My Office Add-Ins are not available. How can I enable them?
To enable them please follow the instructions from this Knowledgebase article.
- Why is Task Management in MindManager 8 is missing?
Task Management features will be disabled if Mindjet JCV Gantt is also installed. This is by design to avoid simultaneous calculations on tasks. JCV Gantt should be used for task management.
- Why are certain elements missing when exporting to a Mindjet Player File?

- Why does an error message show up in MindManager when trying to export to PDF?
Please reinstall the PDF-XChange Software.
- Close all applications
- Uninstall PDF-XChange via the windows control panel
- Install PDF-XChange via the setup file PDFX3SA_sm.exe which you find in the MindManager program directory: C:\Program Files\Mindjet\MindManager 7 (or X5 or 6 - depending on your version)
No license key requires for PDF-XChange.
- I cannot open attachments in MindManager. How can I resolve this?
In order to resolve the issue, follow these steps:
- Close MindManager
- Download and unzip this file.
- Copy the file into the MindManager programs folder (where MindManager.exe is located). This usually is: "C:\Program Files\Mindjet\MindManager <version>". Do not rename the file. Keep it as is.
- Start MindManager and try opening an attachment. It should work again.
- JCV Gantt shows an error message while synchronizing with MindManager. What should I do?
In order to resolve the issue, follow these steps:
- Install Microsoft Visual C 2005 Redistributable Package as well as C 2008 Redistributable Package.
- Verify that you have installed the latest version of MindManager 8.

- I am getting a Vista incompatibility message when I am trying to install JCV Gantt. What should I do?
On Vista JCVGantt must be installed with the right mouse click and then “run as administrator“.
- After installing MindManager 8 the JCV Tab in MindManager is gone. What should I do?
MindManager 7 and JCV Gantt users who install MindManager 8 will need to install the latest update of JCV Gantt in order to resolve the issue. Please download and install the latest version Mindjet JCVGantt Pro 3.3 from the Mindjet download archive.
- MindManager shows a Visual C++ runtime error on startup. What should I do?
